College Football

Again……………”PLAY THROUGH ADVERSITY”……………….GAME OF THE WEEK: OSU versus Penn State. Primetime, white out conditions in a stadium packed to capacity…….+10,000……all to break the attendance record…………isn’t that a fire code violation? I digress……….

Clearly the Buckeyes young crew of talent was not prepared for the spectacle of 9 million fans in white, they were shook and scared from the jump. Haskins……….who is Mr. Cool…..was clearly rattled. The receivers couldn’t catch a ball to save their soul in the first half.

But low and behold a defensive end at a mere 6’5…..265 lbs……….Chase Young……….GIVE THAT MAN THE GAME BALL!!!! My friend told me once “a hero ain’t nothin but a sandwich”……….well………..not if you are Chase Young. That kid never quit. PLAYED THROUGH ADVERSITY……..created turnovers…….created havoc…….despite missing Bosa……….he carried the Buckeye defense.

Back to that issue on adversity…………REFS (in this particular game) were, once again atrocious. The lack of hold calls on PSU’s offensive line were well…………………offensive….and blatant. OSU was flagged 10 times for a total of 105 yards. The targeting call against Pryor was NOT EVEN CLOSE compared to the targeting call on PSU which was blatant and out of bounds after the play.

The adjustments for the Buckeyes at halftime were key. The screen plays in the second half made all of the difference in moving the ball.

OSU has to fix a lot to become a contender……….and if they can make those adjustments………look out CFP!!!

Enough about that………moving on to Syracuse’s “almost upset” against Clemson. The Orange Men looked to be walking out of there with a victory when two CRUCIAL penalties in the fourth quarter were called that sealed their fate. Bummer.

Notre Dame is looking absolutely stellar, definitely a contender for the playoffs.

Bama will cruise to another playoff, however they have played NO ONE…YET! Curious to see them play LSU and Auburn.

Georgia, another contender has not been challenged yet. Looking forward to their games against LSU and Auburn as well.
